About the Program
The Funeral Service Foundation offers scholarships for licensed funeral directors to attend the NFDA International Convention & Expo. The NFDA Convention brings together funeral service professionals for the best in networking and education.
The Award
Valued at up to $2,200, each scholarship covers full registration fees for the October 26-29 NFDA International Convention & Expo, three nights of lodging at a convention hotel, and up to $500 in travel reimbursement.
Submission Cycle
June 2 - July 24, 2025. All participants will be notified of their status by late August.
Eligibility
- Open to funeral directors licensed in the United States or Canada.
- Open to NFDA members and non-members.
Terms & Guidelines
- This scholarship is intended only for licensed funeral service professionals who plan to attend the NFDA International Convention & Expo.
- Scholarships are available to NFDA members and non-members.
- Funeral directors may be licensed in the US or Canada.
- NFDA Convention & Expo Scholarships are not renewable and a candidate may only receive this scholarship once.
- Recipients of other Funeral Service Foundation scholarships may apply.
- Licensed funeral directors who received a 2020 NFDA Virtual Convention & Expo Scholarship may apply.
- Those who have already registered for the Convention may apply.
- Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, or disability.
- If unable to attend designated scholarship events, the scholarship recipient will forfeit his or her scholarship for that year, but may apply in subsequent years.
- All scholarships are subject to available funds.
- All award decisions of the Funeral Service Foundation are final.
- Alternates may be selected in the event that a scholarship recipient decides not to accept the award.
- Only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- The Funeral Service Foundation reserves the right to eliminate from consideration incomplete applications without further notice to the applicant.
- All applicants will be notified of their status via email by late August.

- Each candidate is required to answer five questions in no more than 250 words per question.
Video
- Each candidate is required to submit a brief video, no longer than two minutes.
